Różewicz’s Mother Departs – The People’s Book Prize Finalist Summer 2013

We are very happy to announce that Tadeusz Różewicz’s Mother Departs has been selected as the finalist for The People’s Book Prize, Summer 2013, in the category of non-fiction. Mother Departs was translated from Polish into English by Barbara Bogoczek and edited and introduced by Tony Howard.

This is the first time that any book in translation has been accepted for nomination for this prize and voted as the finalist by the readers.

Further voting will take place on 21 May 2014 to 29 May 2014 when the public votes again in each category to determine the winner of that category’s The People’s Book Prize 2013/14 that will be announced at the Award Ceremony on 29 May 2014.

The People’s Book Prize is the UK’s annual award in three categories: fiction, non-fiction and children’s literature. Founding Patron: Dame Beryl Bainbridge DBE. Patron: Frederick Forsyth CBE. The winner is voted exclusively by the public.
