Tadeusz Różewicz

To Ryszard Przybylski

It’s hard to return

to earth

after such

a long life

it’s hard not to love people

and hard to love

when you know

them so well

it’s easier to love

those who are over

the oceans

mountains and walls

than those who are

next door

said he who departed

(Translated by Barbara Bogoczek).

Tadeusz Różewicz

Dla Ryszarda Przybylskiego

Ciężko jest wracać

do ziemi

po takim

długim życiu

ciężko jest nie kochać ludzi

i ciężko kochać

kiedy się zna

ich tak dobrze

łatwiej jest kochać

tych od których dzielą nas

góry i mury

niż tych od których

dzieli nas ściana

powiedział ten co odszedł
